Guided Tours

Take a guided trip down the Winooski or Mad River and enjoy the beauty of Vermont’s natural landscape. Our experienced guides will give you the instruction you need to safely navigate the river as you spend the day in the Vermont wilderness. All you need to do is pack a lunch and wear appropriate clothing and footwear (no flip-flops, please). We'll take care of the rest! Guided tours take place daily , leaving at 9:30 am and returning at approximately 3:00 pm.

Advanced Reservations required.

Cost: $80.00 per person
Includes: boat rental, all equipment, transportation, and guide service.

Have a special occasion or cannot make our full moon dates? Give us a call and we will do our best to accommodate you.
Paddle to a secluded spot in the center of scenic Waterbury Reservoir and enjoy a fully-prepared gourmet meal. After dinner relax by the fire, take a canoe and explore the reservoir, or go for a swim. Anything goes on our infamous trip. When we are ready, we will return to the shore with only the moon to light the way. The price includes dinner, equipment rental and transportation from Clearwater Sports. This trip can also be booked as a private party anytime, with a group of ten or more.

 

Tubing the Mad River

Nothing is more fun and relaxing then floating down the scenic Mad River. Let Clearwater Sports bring you to the perfect starting point and pick you up two hours later as you drift down this wonderful stretch of the river. Our tubes are cloth-covered so there is no chafing on the hot rubber, and we even have tubes designed to float your refreshments with you! Kids are welcome with tubes of all sizes. This stretch of the river features a few easy rapids and some quick water, but also plenty of smooth stretches for some sunbathing.

Cost: $25.00 per person – Advanced reservations required.

Family Overnight Paddle Trips

Join other families or gather your own group for an overnight canoe journey on a beautiful Central VT lake! We'll supply guides, canoes, transportation, food, cooking equipment and paddling instruction. Enjoy a family canoe trip without the hassle of arranging transportation, securing boats, or scouring guide books for the best locations. Trips leave at 10:30 am and return the following day by 3 pm. All ages welcome.

Cost: Call us. Depends on size of party and destination.

Reservation and Cancellation Policy

All activities and equipment rentals require advanced reservations and prepayment. Individual cancellations must be made within 48 hours prior to the event/rental. Groups of six people or more must cancel 14 days in advance or payment will be forfeited. All camp, instructional programs and trips with meals require a 30 day notice of cancellation. If Clearwater Sports cancels an event/trip, a full refund will be issued. We are not responsible for inclement weather, trips go rain or shine. Prices subject to change.
