Rocket-Shoeing Adventure
Come and meet the infamous Mad River Rocketsled. Born in Warren, Vermont, this totally controllable sled allows you to carve down the mountains. We snowshoe up the Green Mountains along the Lincoln Gap road, which is closed during the winter due to the many curves and steep terrain, then we rocketsled the whole length down. You can choose your speed by the way you carve your way down. This fun and safe adventure will make you feel like an Olympic champion!

Guided Backcountry Snowshoe Tours
We at Clearwater Sports pride ourselves in offering a true backwoods experience with our guided tours. This four hour-program will bring you to unmarked and off-trail areas, and feature a variety of loop trails. Choose a level of difficulty from beginner to a more strenuous level. We'll also provide plenty fun animal tracking and naturalist skills. Come join us for a truly wonderful Vermont winter experience!

Full Moon Log Cabin Trips
What a great idea – a beautiful snowshoe through the scenic Mad River Valley forest to a secluded log cabin nestled into the woods. A warm fire and delicious hors d’oeuvres followed by a hearty, down-home Vermont dinner is waiting for you. Come join us on this unique adventure and discover the pleasure of snowshoeing in the moonlight and feasting on Vermont made products prepared by Vermonters. Also available for backcountry ski or snowshoe luncheons, business gatherings and private parties.

The log cabin’s name is Schoen Wald, German for “Beautiful Woods.” Schoen Wald was hand built using traditional methods by a native Vermont family. The logs for the log cabin, and even the furniture, were built from trees harvested from Mt. Waitsfield. Experience a snowshoe adventure and the rustic elegance of this most special place. Guided Lincoln Gap, Sunset Ledges, Rocket Sledding Trip
Strap on your snowshoes, grab your poles, and trek up the western flank of Mount Abraham with us on the famous Catamount Trail. Experience several sub-artic eco zones. Follow moose and bobcat tracks across many waterfalls. Wander through one of Vermonts magical mountain notches. Challenge yourself with some good climbs. After mastering Lincoln Gap, you could choose an additonal trip up to the Sunset Ledges on Vermont's Storied Long Trail. Waiting for you at the top of the gap will be your locally-designed and made Mad River Rocket Sled. Hop on for a thrilling plunge down to the valley floor via the Gap Road. Our sled is like no other. This trip is rated moderate to challenging. Major bragging rights. 5.5 miles of hiking,1.5 miles of sledding. Bring a snack and something to drink.

Reservation and Cancellation Policy
All activities and equipment rentals require advanced reservations and prepayment. Individual cancellations must be made within 48 hours prior to the event/rental. Groups of six people or more must cancel 14 days in advance or payment will be forfeited. All camp, instructional programs and trips with meals require a 30 day notice of cancellation. If Clearwater Sports cancels an event/trip, a full refund will be issued. We are not responsible for inclement weather, trips go rain or shine. Prices subject to change.
